January 9, 1975 — A priest from Dixon navigates through snow drifts in a Model A.

Like many antique car enthusiasts, Father Tom Adams from Dixon is eager to leave behind the modern vehicles and embrace the classic Model A for navigating the snowy roads of Nebraska. Vintage automobiles are particularly suited for deep snow conditions due to their higher ground clearance and narrower tires, which allow them to cut through snow more effectively than contemporary cars. Father Adams, who developed this belief while he was a student at Omaha North High School, is now putting it to the test. During a recent trial run, the four-cylinder 1930 Ford coupe powered through the snow drifts in Dixon, according to the pastor of St. Anne's Church. With just a pair of chains for the rear tires, both the car and Father Adams will be ready to hit the winter roads.
