Earlier today, a massive leak revealed all of the technical specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series. That news is wild enough on its own, but another leak suggests the beloved S Pen might also receive a particularly unwelcome downgrade: the loss of Bluetooth. If that’s true, it means users won’t be able to use gesture control with the pen.

The news comes from Ishan Agarwal on X. The tipster says he doubts it will improve the battery life by more than a few minutes and implies it’s most likely a cost-cutting measure. The full impact of removing Bluetooth from the stylus isn’t clear, but unless Samsung has built an alternative into the device, any features that rely on Bluetooth will be unavailable.

We can expect to find capabilities such as pressure sensitivity on the S25 Ultra, although there may be a possibility of losing features like remote camera activation. This particular function was integrated into the S Pen back in 2018, coinciding with Samsung's initial rollout of Bluetooth technology.

Breaking News: Retail sources indicate that the S Pen for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will not include Bluetooth functionality!

Which means you will lose certain features like gestures & remote control.

The S Pen has garnered a dedicated following among a specific group of users, yet the vast majority of Samsung customers do not fully utilize its extensive capabilities. While it's an excellent accessory for signing documents or jotting down quick notes (or even entertaining children with doodles when paper is scarce), it is exclusively bundled with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Eliminating potentially beneficial features just to reduce the price of a premium device seems unwarranted.

Although the S25 Ultra will offer a plethora of features beyond stylus capabilities, the extra advantages should not be overlooked. The ability to swiftly switch between functions enhances the overall convenience of using the device.

Once again, this information is a leak. Samsung has not verified any of these rumors, so it's important to keep a healthy dose of skepticism about their reliability.
